Job Description

We are a subsidiary of the Raubex Group, with offices located in Bloemfontein, Pretoria, and Cape Town. We are currently seeking a Junior/Intermediate Quantity Surveyor based in Cape Town to work across various trades and divisions within Raubex Infra. This position is ideal for candidates residing in Cape Town or its surrounding areas, with access to their own transport.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

BSc or BTech Degree in Quantity Surveying.

0-5 Years experience in the Construction industry.

Experience with Construction Computer Software (CCS) will be beneficial.

Contracting QS or Estimating experience in the infrastructure environment will be advantageous.

Must be able to demonstrate a decent understanding of a Construction QS role.

Good interpersonal skills and a team player.

A valid driver's license and own reliable transport.

Based in Cape Town and willing to travel regularly as required.

South African citizen.

JOB SPECIFICATION                                                                                                                                      

Provide support to the Senior Quantity Surveyor (Snr QS) in detailed estimating, compilation, and coordination of tenders, ensuring full compliance with tender specifications.

Assist the Snr QS in the take-off of quantities, measurement of construction works for tenders, preparation of the bill of quantities (if required), and compilation of tender documentation, while managing the entire tender process.

Offer support to Business Unit Directors, the Snr QS, and Construction Managers in estimating and measuring construction works, generating the bill of quantities, compiling required documentation.

Demonstrate and understanding of planning and programming for construction projects.

Review and interpret construction drawings effectively.

Be familiar with various construction contracts and specifications, including COLTO, COTO, SANS, GCC, FIDIC, JBCC, NEC, among others.

Assist the Snr QS with cost management and cost reporting during project execution.

Aid the Snr QS in cost control, ensuring alignment with project budgets.

Work alongside the Snr QS and Construction Managers to ensure construction budgets are met and provide regular reporting on the same.

Support the Snr QS in preparing monthly forecasts and end-of-site estimates.

Record site information for monthly cost reporting and final account purposes.

Maintain records and ensure proper document control.

Assist the Snr QS in preparing valuations/measurements for interim payment certificates and reconciliation statements, calculating CPAP with relevant indices and formulas, and assessing their implications.

Collaborate with the Snr QS and Construction Managers in measuring and managing subcontractor and supplier performance.

Ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures.

Oversee the proper execution of administrative functions.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Quantity Surveyor may be required to undertake other tasks in line with general QS knowledge, skills, and activities.
