Raubex Infra’s Electrical Infrastructure & Renewable Energy Operational business unit is a major role player in the REIPPP and private development industry specializing in PV, CSP and Wind Projects from 5MW to 500MW.

As a key Sub-EPC or Main Contractor specializing in the Electrical and Civil construction components of projects, Raubex Infra is one of the few companies in South Africa that can complete electrical and civil balance of plant on these projects.

Raubex Infra has all the required plant, tools, equipment and qualified experienced human resources to provide effective services ranging from Design and Engineering through to Construction, Commissioning and Hand Over.

In addition to the above, Raubex Infra also specializes in the Installation of Electrical Reticulation and Distribution Infrastructure for Urban Development Projects.

Civil Construction activities include:

- Bulk earthworks, site preparation, laydown areas and utilities installation.
- Access and internal roads, storm water management, trenching and associated bedding, padding, and backfilling, inverter and transformer bases, wind turbine foundations, crane hardstands, pre-assembly areas, etc.
- Controlling buildings, substation buildings, warehouse buildings, substation platforms, drilling and piling works, etc.
- Concrete works associated with all the above.

------- RENEWABLE ENERGY & ELECTRICAL INFRASTRUCTURE AT RAUBEX INFRA Electrical Construction activities include:

Low Voltage (LV) Works (< 1500V):

- DC Works:

- Interconnection of PV modules and connections to DC combiner boxes or string monitors.
- DC cabling and connections from combiners to inverters.

- AC Works:

- Auxiliary cabling and connection works on single-phase and three-phase systems.
- Installation of lighting systems, security systems and surveillance equipment.

Medium Voltage (MV) Works (6.6kV to 33kV):

- Cable installation, splicing, termination works and VLF pressure testing of cables.
- Installation of step-up transformers and ring main units.
- Construction of overhead power lines using mono-pole or lattice steel or wooden structures.
- Design, engineering construction, testing and issuing of SANS 10142-2 Certificate of Safe Installation.

High Voltage (HY) Works (> 66kV):

- Design and engineering services in collaboration with established consultants and subcontractor(s).
- Construction of substations, switching stations and overhead lines up to 132kV level including the required control buildings.
- Additional services, e.g. special studies with respect to Grid Code Compliance and system loss calculations offered in collaboration with an established and well-experienced Power System Dynamics consultancy.
