The construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) is a Schedule 3a public entity established to lead construction industry stakeholders in construction development. It is established in terms of the CIDB Act 38, of 2000.

The role of the CIDB is to facilitate and promote the improved contribution of the construction industry to SA's economy and society.

Amongst others the CIDB must promote:

uniformity in construction procurement

efficient and effective infrastructure delivery

construction industry performance improvement

development of the emerging sector, including industry transformation; and

skills development

The value of grade 8/9 denotes the maximum value of a contract the contractor is deemed capable of performing within a particular class of works.

Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (“BBBEE”) is a central part of South Africa’s economic transformation strategy. A multi-faceted “broad-based” approach has been adopted which aims to increase the number of previously disadvantaged individuals benefiting from the South African economy.

Raubex Infra is subjected to an annual independent BBBEE verification audit by a South African National Accreditation System (“SANAS”) accredited verification agency. The scorecards issued are used as the basis for internal target setting and measurement of transformation progress.

Raubex Infra has an overall consolidated rating of a Level 1 contributor to BBBEE using the Generic codes.

Raubex Infra has been certified on a level 1 by Empowerlogic, who is a SANAS accredited company in South Africa. Empowerlogic is an independent and impartial verification company that verifies the BBBEE status of the measured entity against the codes of Good Practice on Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment.

We are registered with The Federated Employer’s Mutual Assurance Company Limited. This company is registered according to the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, 1993, Section6 (A0 – Annexure 13)

THE FEDERATED EMPLOYER'S; MUTUAL ASSURANCE COMPANY PROPRIETARY LIMITED (RF) was established as a mutual insurer in 1936 and on the introduction of the Workmen's Compensation Act 1941 was granted a licence to continue to transact workmen's compensation insurance for the building industry  

Its business operations are essentially confined to the insurance of employers against their liabilities under the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act 1993.

The NHBRC is governed by the Housing Consumers Protection Measures Act, 1998 (Act No.95 of 1998). The Act states that the NHBRC’s role is to:(a) Represent the interests of housing consumers by providing warranty protection against defects in new homes;(b) Regulate the home building industry;(c) Provide protection to housing consumers in respect of the failure of home builders to comply with their obligations in terms of this Act;(d) Establish and to promote ethical and technical standards in the home building industry;(e) Improve structural quality in the interests of housing consumers and the home building industry;(f) Promote housing consumer rights and to provide housing consumer information;(g) Communicate with and to assist home builders to register in terms of this Act;(h) Assist home builders, through training and inspection, to achieve and to maintain satisfactory technical standards of home building.

The Bargaining Council for the Civil Engineering Industry (BCCEI) is a statutory body created under the Labour Relations Act (LRA) 66 of 1995 to provide for the co-regulation of stable and productive employment relations in the civil engineering industry. The council is an industry based forum of organised business and labour that regulates employment conditions and labour relations in the civil engineering industry. It provides the necessary, administrative infrastructure and technical expertise to ensure effective collective bargaining, industry compliance, dispute resolution and social protection services.

Raubex Infra has obtained it's Registration as an Asbestos Contractor. We can now work with asbestos as per Regulation 12 of the Asbestos Abatement Regulations 2020, this within type 2 and type 3,

"type 2 asbestos work" means—

(a) the repair or encapsulation of asbestos cement products in a manner that does not require surface preparation; or

(b) the removal of asbestos cement products or asbestos insulating board; and, requires registration as a type 2 registered asbestos contractor with the chief inspector;

 "type 3 asbestos work" means—

(a) the removal, repair or encapsulation of any asbestos and asbestos-containing material; and, requires registration as a type 3 registered asbestos contractor with the chief inspector;
